The Crown Heights Film Festival strives to bring together local residents and filmmakers.  Writers, directors, editors, actors, producers and cinematographers get their work seen by New York City audiences that would otherwise be unlikely to see Indie short films from places like Iran, Argentina, France and, indeed, Crown Heights.

We promote our accepted submissions on several social media platforms and our screening events provide opportunities for face-to-face networking.  It’s all about the power of communities:  the Brooklyn community and the community of talented, creative filmmakers.

The Crown Heights Film Festival was founded in 2009 to bring the community together as it was rapidly changing due to gentrification.  Nine years later, the tradition continues every October.  We attract large, enthusiastic audiences here in Crown Heights, one of Brooklyn's most beautiful and diverse neighborhoods.
